Jury selection expected to begin today in the case of a man accused of killing a New Orleans Police officer two years ago.

Travis Boys is accused of shooting officer Daryle Holloway in 2015.  Boys entered a pleaded not guilty and not guilty by reason of insanity to murder charges in the shooting death of Holloway.

Boys' attorneys have asked the judge to block officers in uniform from being in the courtroom except those needed for security, claiming the presence of uniformed officers could intimidate jurors in the case, allowing emotions to get in the way of their client getting a fair trial.

It's reported that prosecutors are not seeking the death penalty.  If convicted Boys could face life in prison.

It's expected the judge will decide on the request Wednesday.
