JPSO deputies want to find the man and car pictured above after a fire in the Halloween display at a Westbank Walmart.

"The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with an aggravated arson," Captain Jason Rivarde said in a news release.

He says that the suspect is a black male, between 5’ 9” to 6’ tall, with a thin build.

"The suspect is believed to have intentionally started a fire in the Seasonal (Halloween) Section of the Walmart store at 4810 Lapalco Blvd. in Marrero. After entering the store about 8:40 am, the suspect aimlessly wandered the aisles for about a half hour.  Around 9:10 am, the suspect started a fire, which spread among the various Halloween items on display.  After running from the store, the suspect entered what appears to be a gold mid-2000s Pontiac Grand Prix."

Anyone with information about the identity of this suspect or about the incident is asked to call the JPSO Arson Section at 504-364-5300 or contact Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.

The fire occurred on September 19, 2018.
