JFK Library honors Landrieu for removing Confederate monuments


Former New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu was honored Sunday night by the JFK Library.

He accepted the 2018 Profile in Courage Award.

"New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu is honored for his leadership in removing four of the Confederate monuments in New Orleans while offering candid, clear and compassionate reflections on the moment and its place in history," according to the award announcement.

President John F. Kennedy's daughter, Ambassador Caroline Kennedy and Jack Schlossberg, JFK’s grandson presented the award.
