The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival had an attendance of approximately 450,000, festival officials announced today. Attendance for the 2016 and 2017 festivals was around 425,000.

Jazz Fest 2018 included the debut of legendary rockers Aerosmith; a tribute to the late Fats Domino featuring Bonnie Raitt, John Batiste, Irma Thomas, Al "lil Fats" Jackson, the Fats Domino Orchestra, and more; David Byrne, Rod Stewart; and Aaron Neville's tribute to his brother Charles Neville, who died just days before 2018 the festival began.

The fest also served as a 300th anniversary party for the city of New Orleans, and featured the history of New Orleans' music at its Cultural Exchange Pavilion.

Jazz Fest will follow that up with another anniversary celebration -- 2019 will be the 50th Jazz Fest.
