New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell stays in the news, and lately it’s been one crisis after another.  The latest issue of delinquent taxes, upon which the mayor has taken the stand that “we are all in this together.” But is that something most voters feel like they can identify with?

“This idea that this makes her like the rest of us is totally bogus,” said political analyst Clancy DuBos. “The rest of us pay our taxes”.

Could the issue carry over to the next election?

“I don’t know,” said DuBos. “This mayor has a lot of goodwill with voters.  But a lot of politicians forget what got them there, and voters do not like to be taken for granted.”

The IRS issues that the Mayor and her husband are facing have been ongoing, eight out of the last ten years.  DuBos said it is critical that Mayor Cantrell and her husband settle this IRS matter and not have it happen again.
