Arkansas hit 13 3-pointers in front of a frenzied Pete Maravich Assembly Center crowd and ended the Tigers 10-game winning streak with a 90-89 victory. Mason Jones’ jumper with 22 seconds left was the winning basket. LSU had several chances in the final seconds, but couldn’t get one to go through the hoop.

It looked like LSU was going to pull out another victory after trailing by a huge margin. The Razorbacks had an 18-point lead with 13:45 left to go. But LSU started driving towards the rim and three Arkansas players fouled out and the Tigers hit 20 free throw shots to keep chipping away at the deficit. LSU eventually took the lead with 3:39 left on a Javonte Smart layup, but that was last made field goal for the Tigers.

Naz Reid had 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead the way for LSU. Smart had 18 points and Skylar Mays added 17 points.

LSU had 19 offensive rebounds, but the Tigers turned it over 21 times. But the big story was Arkansas’ shooting. The Razorbacks shot 58% from the field and was 13-of-24 from three-point territory. Projected lottery pick Daniel Gafford had another big game against the Tigers as he had 23 points and eight rebounds. Isaiah Joe hit four 3-pointers and finished with 18 points.

The loss drops LSU’s record to 17-4, 7-1 in the SEC. The Bayou Bengals now enter a tough stretch of their schedule. They are at 22nd ranked Mississippi State on Wednesday, host Auburn on Saturday and then visit 7th ranked Kentucky a week from Tuesday.
