The forecast calls for a 60% of scattered showers and storms on this 4th of July.

"Some heavy downpours with localized flooding is possible," WWL TV Chief Meteorologist Chris Franklin forecasts.

He says the high will be around 90, feeling even hotter.

"A series of disturbances will continue through the weekend with rain coverage around 70-80% by Sunday and Monday."

Franklin says some streets could fill with water.

"Rainfall accumulation amounts look to be around 1-3 inches through the weekend, but localized higher amounts of 5 plus inches are very possible. So minor flooding is a potential through the weekend, though not on a large scale."
