Andy Cannizaro, who resigned as baseball coach at Mississippi State in 2018 for "poor decisions," has been named the baseball coach at Holy Cross High School, The New Orleans Advocate reports.

When he resigned from the Bulldogs, ESPN reported the "poor decisions" involved an extramarital affair with a female staff member. Neither Cannizaro nor the school would confirm the report.

Cannizaro played college baseball at Tulane from 1998 - 2001, and was part of the Green Wave's first College World Series team. The New York Yankees drafted him in 2001 and he played in 14 major league baseball games with the Yankees and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

More recently, Cannizaro was a hitting coach and recruiting coordinator for LSU, prior to his time at Mississippi State.
