Gunfire injures five in separate shootings in New Orleans, Sunday

A violent Sunday in New Orleans as a total of five people were shot last night, one in the Second District, three in the Central City and another in Desire.  

Around 5:45pm Sunday evening a man was shot in the leg. The victim was at an unknown location in Second District when he heard five shots fired.

The victim realized he was shot in right leg. The injured victim was driven to local hospital by an unknown subject.  

NOPD responded to the hospital.  

Later Sunday night gunfire in Central City resulted in three juveniles being shot.  

The shots erupted just before 8pm Sunday night on Second Street near the intersection of Freret Street.  

NOPD reports one juvenile was shot in the leg.  As for the condition of the other two, no other details were released.  

NOPD says all three were transported to a hospital.  

Meanwhile, around 10:30pm Sunday night, three men were fired upon near the intersection of Oliver White and Pleasure Streets in Desire.  

NOPD reports three people in a car came under gunfire by a person.  One of the passengers in the vehicle was struck.  

Three were able to drive away to safety and contacted EMS.  They responded and transported the stricken victim to a local hospital for treatment.

The investigations into the shootings are on-going and no other details about the shootings have been released.

It is not known if any of the shootings were connected.
