After a successful Friday night opening featuring BJ Thomas and John Oates, Family Gras 2019 rolls through the weekend.

The free event continued today, but due to weather concerns, updates have been made to the Saturday schedule. All the musical acts have been moved up a bit.

Possibly heavy rains are expected to pass through the area this afternoon and evening as parades roll through the viewing area.

The Imagination Movers began performing at 12:30pm. They perform until 1:30.

The Arrhythmia Band takes the stage at 2 o'clock, followed by the Righteous Brothers at 3:15

Michael McDonald will now perform BEFORE the Krewe of Caesar! He'll be on stage from 5 until 6:15 p.m.

"We have a great lineup Saturday, because we have a bunch of local bands," says producer, Greg Buisson. "And then we have The Righteous Brothers, and they're doing terrific...Grammy Award winners. And then we close out Saturday with Michael McDonald, and we're really excited about having him here."

"For the first time ever, the parades are going to roll directly through the middle of the concert grounds, so it'll be almost like a little mini-Endymion, as folks have a chance to experience both the concerts and the parade," said Buisson.

He says all the krewes have been told to save their beads and really throw heavily when they get to Clearview Mall.

Saturday night,  the Krewe of Caesar will roll through the festival right after The Righteous Brothers and Michael McDonald. Sunday, the Krewe of Kings will roll through the family festival between performances by the Gatlin Brothers and Brett Eldridge.

Great food is also available at the fest, "not your typical festival food" says Buisson. "It's not hot dogs and hamburgers. This is some of some of Louisiana's finest cuisine.

And, you won't get stuck in any mud...

"Everybody's on cement so we won't have Woodstock out here, that's for sure," says Buisson.
