Entergy Corporation today confirmed that Charles Rice will no longer lead Entergy New Orleans. Rice will transfer to Entergy's legal department and Entergy Corp. president Rod West will take over in the meantime.

Under Rice, Entergy customers and New Orleans politicians slammed the utility for frequent service outages, unfulfilled promises to add more renewable energy sources, and most recently, actors hired to support the company's plans for a new power plant in New Orleans East.

A statement from West thanked Rice for his service to the company, and said Entergy is focused on finding the right leader for Entergy New Orleans who can "guide investments in a more modern energy network while keeping bills affordable for our customers."
