That bye week couldn’t have come at a better time for LSU.

The Tigers were in need of a break after their 7-1 start to heal up a bit before Saturday’s top-five showdown with Alabama at Tiger Stadium. As a result, starting left guard Garrett Brumfield will be back in the lineup, according to LSU coach Ed Orgeron.

“He’s fine,” Orgeron said on the SEC Coaches Teleconference Wednesday. “Ready to go.”

Wednesday’s comments affirm what Orgeron said Monday, when he relayed that LSU trainer Jack Marucci felt Brumfield would be ready to play against the Crimson Tide. The senior backed that up by being a full participant at practice on Tuesday afternoon.
