Happy Birthday to quarterback Drew Brees.

As the veteran QB marks his 41st birthday, he has a big decision to make... will he retire or return?

Brees is not saying what he will do, but insisted last week that he still has the ability to get the job done.

"It's not a matter if I can still play," He told WWL's Bobby Hebert last week. "I know I can still play.  If I really wanted to, I could play for another three or four years."

Coming off a season where Brees set a new NFL record for career touchdown passes and highest completion percentage in a single game, he says talent is not the issue.  He says he doesn't wait to wait for that, though.

"I don't want to walk away from this game because I have 32 teams telling me I can't play anymore," Brees explained. "I want to do it on my own terms.  When that time comes, I'll. know."

Instead Brees insisted his decision will be about what is best for those he loves.

"In large part it will be because of my family," the QB said. "I've played 30 years of organized football, 19 years of professional football... I've had my family sacrifice for so long."

Listen to Brees:

Brees is spending at least part of his birthday in Washington DC to help present former Saints star Steve Gleason with the Congressional Gold Medal.

He will also join us for QB to QB with Bobby Hebert at 6:40pm tonight on WWL's Sportstalk.
