Drew Brees turns 40 today, yet still performs at the highest level

USA TODAY
Saints quarterback Drew Brees is 40 years old today. But #9 continues to operate at a high level.
"Drew trains like an Olympic athlete," said WWL NFL Analyst Mike Detillier.
He says Brees, like Tom Brady, continues to perform at the highest level, and that's why the comparison between the two quarterbacks is constantly being made.
"They were the underdogs in life and they brought a community together," he said. "Sports can do that. A lot of people don't like to admit that but it's true."
And now that both are in their 40s they continue to perform and both heading to the Conference championships this weekend.
But now that Brees is 40-years-old.
"There's going to be a little bit of decline, no matter what," Detillier said. "But he's still playing at the highest level that a quarterback can play at, in the NFL. "I do think that because of the training and keeping yourself in the best of shape as Drew as done, that he still has a few years left in him."
