Latest reports say I-10 has reopened from across the Twin Spans after being closed all morning due to collapsed power lines falling across the roadway at the Oak Harbor Exit.

The roadway reopened just moments after 1pm.

The delay caused a snarl in getting two and from Slidell as I-10 traffic was diverted on U.S.-11 down to the junction of U.S.-90 then out the two lane road and across the Rigolets.

Getting into New Orleans was just as complicated as I-10 traffic was shuffled onto two lane Old Spanish Trail and out to U.S.-90.  A major injury accident requiring the landing of a life flight helicopter occured near the junction of U.S.-90 and U.S.-190, stopping travel into Mississippi.

As things get back to normal, drivers on U.S.-90 are urged to use caution if you are unfamiliar with the two lane road into and out of New Orleans East.
