Gas in Louisiana is averaging $2.43 a gallon.  In the metro New Orleans area gas prices are down now to $2.41 a gallon.  A lot cheaper than a month ago and even more so than this time last year.  We asked some folks who are pumping gas if they go for price or convenience when they fill up.

"I think I have a couple of favorites that I go to," said this gentleman at one of his favorites.  "Probably in the past I've probably checked their signs and know that they are okay in the market, and then it's a matter of convenience and then I go to the ones that I am just used to going to."

"I come here because of the price, definitely," this woman said.  "It's close to home so whenever I need it, I'll just leave home get some at the Discount Zone here on the corner and then go off to work."

"For me I really don't care because a lot of times when my gas tank gets low I'm on my way to work so I don't really have time to go where I want, but if it's after work or the weekend than I'll go for price," said another man.

"I always stop for gas for convenience not for price," this man said.

One lady we talked to said she shops for price.
"I will go way out of my way to find the best price, because there could be a difference of 19 cents and if you add that up times for a 20 gallon tank, you know, price means a lot," she noted.

Gas prices in Louisiana are running on average, $2.43 per gallon.  The national average is $2.83 per gallon.
