New Orleans City Hall computers are down after workers were told that a cyber attack has struck the city government.

The exact extent of the attack is unknown.  Sources said the attack started sometime after 11 a.m.

The call went out over police and fire department radios along with announcements at New Orleans city hall instructing all city employees to immediately shut down all computers and unplug their network connections.

Officials have called in the FBI, Secret Service, National Guard and State Police.

The effects of the cyber attack are not yet clear.

The state just went through a cyber attack a few weeks ago that shut down state offices across Louisiana including the Office of Motor Vehicles, one of the hardest department that were hit and took weeks to reopen back to normal operation.
