A man wanted for a shooting on the Northshore is behind bars after NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad busted him.

Maurice Williams faces a string of charges.

"St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s deputies were able to track Williams to a residence in the 5000 block of Toulon Street," New Orleans Police said in a release. "NOPD VOWS officers served the warrant, at which time Williams was arrested and charged with an outstanding warrant in St. Tammany Parish for the shooting incident."

Cops say they also found a number of illegal items.

"During the search, officers discovered multiple guns and ammunition, as well as narcotics and narcotics paraphernalia. With this discovery, NOPD Seventh District detectives additionally charged Williams with possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal carry of a firearm while in possession of a schedule I CDS."
