Police say they have cracked the case of a Grinch in Terrebonne Parish.

"The story of the Grinch now has a happy ending," Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Col. Terry Daige said.

After a series of reports of Christmas decorations stolen from people's homes, deputies spotted a truck matching the one reportedly used in the thefts.

They stopped 31-year-old Nikita Raquel Terrebonne and went to her home where they found all of the stolen stuff.

"A 10-foot tall inflatable snowman holding a green present was observed," Daige explained. "She was trying to decorate her own yard."

He says in the garage they found more.

"Deputies located a three piece inflatable reindeer family with glitter; two potted Christmas trees; a projector set; large Christmas wreaths; an inflatable penguin and other items."

All of the stolen goods were returned to their owners.

They booked Terrebonne into the Terrebonne Parish Jail on six counts of criminal trespass and six counts of theft. As of Friday morning she remained jailed in lieu of $500 bond for each count.
