1 win down, 3 more to go for the Pelicans to advance from their opening Western Conference playoff match-up against the Trailblazers.  New Orleans stunned a few folks by earning a 97-95 victory in the opener in Portland, but the Birds have shown all season long that they are the same team no matter where they play. The Pels finished with a regular season record of 48-34.  They went 24-17 at home and 24-17 on the road.

The franchise got its first postseason victory under the Pelicans moniker Saturday night, and it was first for six year vet Anthony Davis as well. He was a man on a mission, scoring 11 in the 4th quarter; and he finished with 35 points, 14 rebounds, 4 blocks and 2 steals.

Portland will be revved up looking to even the series on their home court. Their star, Damien Lillard, likely won’t have as bad an evening as he did in the series opener.  Dame scored 18 after going 6 of 23 from the floor and is typically a 46% shooter, averaging 27 points a night.

If the Pelicans can pull out the victory, they’ll go up 2-0 in the series and get to come home for game 3 on Thursday. DO IT BIGGER!
