Saints quarterback Drew Brees has 12 career post season games under his belt.  He is preparing for Sunday's game in Minnesota, with a trip to the NFC Championship on the line.

"This is the position you want to be in," Brees told Bobby Hebert in his weekly visit on Sports Talk.  "We've continued to get better and better as the season has gone along. We had a lot of young faces on the team when we all came together at the start of the season and felt like we could get better and better as the season went along."

The Saints are trying avenge a season opening loss to the Vikings this Sunday in the divisional round of the NFL Playoffs.

Brees insists he prepares the same for regular season games and postseason games.

The QB says he knows moving the ball against the Vikings defense will be a challenge.

"In every statistical category, they're a salty defense. They don't give up big plays. They're just really sound and have really good players. They play with high intensity high energy. You know what you're in for when you play these guys."

Brees on the Saints' playoff showdown in Minnesota

The Vikings allow an average of just 16 points a game this season.

Meanwhile, Brees says that week one match up against Minnesota feels like it was so long ago, and he says so many things have changed for both teams.

"It feels like it was seasons ago when we last played them.  There are some things we can learn from the last time we played them.  We know how efficient we have to be against this team. Every yard counts, every inch counts against a team like this," Brees added.

The Saints lost to the Vikings 29 - 19 on September 11th, 2017.

The Saints are looking at that game on film and trying to learn a little bit about how they can improve and author a different outcome and move on to the NFC title game.
