It's one of 34 projects the City of New Orleans is looking to perform with a #230-million dollars in FEMA funds.

The Breakwater Drive project will fix damage to the roadway along its entire length from North Roadway Street to its terminus.

The rehabilitation of Breakwater Drive is more than just paving.  Also getting fixed will be the parking lot, streetside parking, and the boat launch.

Also improvement to the breakwater, by adding more rocks, and fixing the breakwater  retaining wall.

Breakwater Drive is also getting new sidewalks on both sides of the roadway.

It's all part of the Municipal Yacht Harbor Replacement project.  The project will increase storm protection to the city’s new floating docks marina, a $25 million investment that will be completed at the end of the year.

Work is expected to be complete next summer.
