Gunfire on Bourbon Street sends two to hospital, two to jail

Cops say suspect confessed, shooting caught on camera

Shots rang out early this morning in the French Quarter.

"We are working a double shooting at the intersection of Bourbon and Conti streets," NOPD Public Information Officer Juan Barnes said in an email. "The incident occurred around 4:58 a.m"

One man was shot in the leg, another in the stomach.  Initial reports indicate the injuries are not life threatening.

Police say they arrested two people.

"We have two armed suspects in custody. One suspect made statements indicating that he was the shooter," Barnes said. "The incident was caught on the real time crime camera."

The investigation continues.
