Former Louisiana Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco, who died over the weekend after battling cancer, will lie in state in the State Capitol Rotunda Thursday. It's the first of three days of events culminating in her funeral.

Governor John Bel Edwards has ordered flags flown at half-staff through Saturday's funeral mass.

An interfaith service at St. Joseph's Cathedral in Baton Rouge Thursday will begin events, followed by an honor procession to the capitol.

Friday, public visitation will be held at St. John the Evangelist Cathedral in Lafayette from 12:30 - 8:30 p.m. Visitation continues Sunday morning from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. A private burial will follow.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, mourners make a donation to the Kathleen Babineaux Blanco Public Policy Center, UL Lafayette Foundation, 705 East St. Mary Blvd., Lafayette, Louisiana, 70504.
