Baton Rouge Police released a video of a fight that happened before the shooting death of LSU student and basketball player Wayde Sims Friday morning.

Sims was shot and killed in the 600 block of Harding Blvd. in Baton Rouge around 12:25 a.m. Friday.

LSU basketball coach Will Wade said in a statement, "We are all devastated. We need your prayers for Wayde, for his family, for all of us. We are heartbroken."

Sims was a junior at LSU. Last year, he played in 32 games and started 10 of them. Sims averaged six points and three rebounds a game. He was expected to be a key role player this season for second-year head coach Will Wade.

Sims won three state championships at University High in Baton Rouge. He was named Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year in 2014-15 after averaging 21 points and 10 rebounds.

His father is Wayne Sims, who played under Dale Brown at LSU from 1987-91.
