2 consecutive years for games in Gainesville for LSU/Florida

Some fans skipping making that trip twice in a row

This weekend is the second conference road trip for the LSU Tigers, in the steamy confines of Florida's Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, "The Swamp."

It's the second year in a row that LSU has traveled to Gainesville, owing to Hurricane Matthew threatening Florida in 2016. Sally Stiel with the Traveling Tigers says that's why they didn't get a whole lot of interest for a road trip.

"Because of the hurricane, going back-to-back, two away games in a row, we just didn't have enough interest on our presale to make a trip this year," said Sally Stiel of the LSU Alumni Traveling Tigers. But she says there will still be plenty of purple and gold in The Swamp.

"Our Orlando chapter will be doing a big tailgate in our absence, about a block from the stadium," she said. "There'll still be a lot of Tigers around the area, supporting us, making the Tigers known in Gainesville."

Any Tigers fans making the trip likely know they don't call it "the Swamp" for nothing: afternoon highs are forecast to be in the low 90s.
