Two more Mardi Gras krewes alter their parade routes.

According to The Times Picayune | The New Orleans Advocate, the Krewe of Bacchus and the Krewe of Orpheus will both shorten their uptown routes by three-quarters of a mile.

They will still follow the traditional uptown route; starting at Napoleon Avenue near Tchoupitoulas Street, turning right on St. Charles Avenue, right on Canal Street and then right on Tchoupitoulas Street. But as Mardi Gras historian Arthur Hardy reports, this year, the krewes will end seven blocks sooner by turning left on Julia Street before finishing at Convention Center Boulevard.

Bacchus and Orpheus did not give reasons for the shorter routes. Endymion and Zulu also changed their routes to avoid the partially collapsed Hard Rock Hotel site.
