Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry has announced he will not run for Louisiana but instead will seek a second term as Louisiana's chief legal officer.

Landry said he can best serve the state by continuing to do his current job.

That decision takes the Republican out of running against Governor John Bel Edwards in 2019.

So far only Eddie Rispone has announced his entrance into the governor's race.  U.S. Sen. John Kennedy says he'll make his decision by Dec. 1.
