Louisiana candidates for governor show their donor numbers

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) _ Late to enter the Louisiana governor's race, Republican U.S. Rep. Ralph Abraham has some catching up to do on the fundraising front.
Abraham has less personal wealth than his GOP competitor Eddie Rispone and nowhere near the millions that Democratic incumbent John Bel Edwards raised over three years in office.
As Friday's deadline hit to turn in campaign fundraising reports, Abraham's political consultant Lionel Rainey told The Associated Press the report will show $350,000 in the bank by the end of the 2018 period.
That's compared to Edwards' $8.4 million and $5.5 million for Rispone, who loaned his campaign $5 million.
But Abraham only had three weeks from announcing his campaign through the Dec. 31 reporting deadline. Rainey says Abraham has kept up the $100,000-plus per week pace since then.
