The city of New Orleans announced this afternoon that all of tonight's parades are canceled due to the threat of high winds.

"Public safety is number one," said New Orleans Police Superintendent Shaun Ferguson. "As such, we made a collaborative decision."

Muses will roll tomorrow afternoon starting at 4:45 p.m., starting on Napoleon Ave. at Perrier St. Babylon will follow at 5:15 p.m., starting at Magazine St.  and Napoleon Ave.

The Knights of Chaos will roll Sunday, following the Krewe of Thoth. Thoth starts at noon. Chaos will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Magazine and Napoleon.

Chief Ferguson said the parades will roll their floats only, as many of the marching clubs, bands, and other elements are already booked for Friday and Sunday's regularly scheduled parades.
