The man accused of fatally shooting Metairie tow truck operate "Big Lee" Martin will spend a little more time in jail. Wayne Higgins's attempt to post bond last month was rejected, according to The New Orleans Advocate.

The Advocate reports that the property Higgins's family put up to back the bond was deemed insufficient. The report said although it appraised at $600,000, bond would depend on the property's assessed value of $240,000.

Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Higgins shortly after the May 5 shooting. Higgins and Martin were neighbors and had reportedly feuded for a long time. Things came to a head when Martin sprayed his hose on Higgins as Higgins backed out of his driveway. Witnesses said Higgins then got out of his vehicle and fatally shot Martin.

Higgins has another bond hearing in two weeks.
