The Saints are getting $3 million of cap space back today due to returned bonuses from defensive tackle Nick Fairley's contract.  Fairley signed a four year contract that had $8 million dollars in up front money before an off-season physical revealed a heart condition which forced him to miss the 2017 season.

The Saints appear to be getting that money back.  Currently, the Saints have roughly $18 million in cap space.  That is more than enough money to bring in another high-priced free agent.  The team is reportedly set to visit with free agent DT Ndamukong Suh, who figures to come with a hefty price tag.

The $3 million returned to the Saints doesn't signify if his grievance has been settled.  That could be determined at a later date.
